You’ll be amazed when you discover how easy it is to
make a classic feathered star quilt. Template
Free Feathered Star with Patty McCormack shows you how to create a quilt inspired by the age-old tradition of exquisite piecing.
Traditionally
considered a ‘really difficult block’, the feathered star doesn’t have to be
complicated or time consuming. Patty demonstrates the secrets of speedy rotary cutting
and accurate piecing techniques that simplify the making of this gorgeous quilt.
This particular Feathered Star is called a Radiant Star or Chestnut Burr and is based on the LeMoyne Star. It's one of the easier Feathered Stars to piece since all the "feathers" are the same size and a true diamond is used for the tip. The method used is template free; all pieces can be cut with a ruler and rotary cutter.
